Rec Mode 01,
International Video Festival, Valentina Moncada Prize, will occur every
three years, involving students from Italian and foreign Academies of
Art.
This edition of Rec Mode 01, focuses on the countries of Mitteleuropa
(Germany, Austria, Czech and Slovak Republic), connecting Italian students
to those from this specific cultural background. In future editions, others
continents may be involved such as Asia or South America. We hope that
directors from foreign academies will also adopt this concept and reciprocate
in their venues thus inviting Italian students abroad.
Valentina Moncada Gallery will host the event and present videos. Members
from the international committee will choose the winner and award The
Valentina Moncada Prize. The prize consists in a solo exhibition at the
gallery. The gallery has hosted a similar project in 2004, Play ‘04,
involving students from Italian academies of art.
Rec Mode 01 wishes to encourage cultural exchanges between students from
different countries and present them to the complex system of the art
world. The jury which consists of international artists, curators, critics,
collectors and directors of art institutions will come in contact with
young talents.
The prize will give the opportunity to the winner to enter into the international
art scene.
